Downtown Bend Business Association Organizational Goals 2025-2026
The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) is committed to enhancing and supporting the vibrancy, accessibility, and sustainability of Downtown Bend. Our organizational goals for the 2025-2026 fiscal year focus on key initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and ensuring a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
1. Beautification and Infrastructure Improvements
Sidewalk and Street Enhancements
Collaborate with the City of Bend to:
Prioritize the repair of sidewalks, alleyways, benches, and planters while clarifying that DBBA does not own or hold liability for these assets.
Repair broken brickwork around tree wells to improve pedestrian safety.
Develop a long-term plan for tree replacement with species suited for the urban environment.
Public Art and Streetscape Enhancements
Install artful benches and upgraded planters that incorporate seating.
Transform power boxes into public art pieces, showcasing local talent.
Add additional sidewalk furniture and artistic features to create inviting public spaces.
2. Wayfinding and Accessibility
Improve signage and wayfinding to help visitors navigate downtown easily.
Update kiosks to include a full map of all downtown businesses.
Advocate for improved signage leading to Brooks Alley, Tin Pan Alley, and other key off-the-beaten path locations.
Launch a public communication campaign in collaboration with the City of Bend to educate the community on parking locations, costs, and availability.
3. Public Restroom Accessibility
Work with the City to provide immediate solutions for public restrooms.
Advocate for temporary upscale portable restrooms to accommodate the high volume of visitors.
Ensure the long-term integration of public restrooms in future city redevelopment projects.
4. Business and Economic Support
Strengthen relationships with local businesses to foster a thriving downtown economy.
Advocate for policies and initiatives that support business growth and sustainability.
Partner with the City of Bend on programs to enhance the downtown experience for both businesses and consumers.
Establish DBBA as a designated Main Street member to access additional resources and funding opportunities.
Diversify funding sources to ensure long-term organizational sustainability and growth.
5. Community Engagement and Advocacy
Represent the interests of Downtown Bend businesses in city planning discussions.
Strengthen community partnerships to create a more inclusive and dynamic downtown environment.
Host and support events that drive foot traffic and economic activity in Downtown Bend.
The DBBA is dedicated to working collaboratively with the City of Bend, business owners, and community stakeholders to make these goals a reality. By prioritizing beautification, accessibility, and economic growth, we aim to ensure Downtown Bend remains a thriving hub for commerce, culture, and community engagement.
